The unique vocals of Mickey Thomas has been out front of bands including Starship, Jefferson Starship and the Elvin Bishop Group.  Throughout the years he sang the hits: "Jane", "Find Your Way Back", "No Way Out", "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now", "Laying It On The Line" and "Fooled Around And Fell In Love."  Talking with award-winning program director Ray White, in an interview recorded in October of 2013, Mickey discusses his latest album Loveless Fascination and some new compilations from Jefferson Starship and Starship.  In our Spotlight Segment, we feature the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, Tom Petty, who passed away on October 2, 2017.

Geoff Downes has made a major impact on the rock/pop music scene throughout the years, starting with the band he co-founded in 1977 - The Buggles.  His next stop was keyboardist for Yes, where he's played with the band for 8 years during their storied career. Original member of Firefall, guitarist/vocalist Larry Burnett, played on the band's first five albums from the mid-1970's through 1980, and a reunion album with former band members released in 2009.  His song, Cinderella, landed on the Top 40 charts.  Today, you can find Larry playing gigs in the mid-atlantic area with his friend Don Chapman and others in the region.  Award-winning program director Ray White, caught up with Larry in July, 2017 to talk about his career with Firefall, his Guitars & Vocals CD and latest music endeavors.  In our "showcase" segment we'll feature the last project by the late legendary guitarist Ronnie Montrose, titled "10 X 10."  Finished and released recently with help from his good friends Ricky Phillips (Styx/Bad English/Baby's) and Eric Singer (Alice Cooper/Kiss) and many of his rock star buddies.  For more information on our show, visit http://www.classicartiststoday.com

Micky Dolenz is the vocalist and drummer for a group that grew out of a TV show in the 1960's...The Monkees.   The show introduced a number of innovative, new-wave film techniques to series television and won two Emmy Awards in 1967.  The Monkees have sold more than 75 million records worldwide and had international hits.  Their latest CD, released in 2016, is Good Times. Warren Haynes has carried a heavy workload throughout the years fronting his own band and Gov't Mule while playing a key role in The Allman Brothers Band.  Playing in the Dickey Betts Band, he was invited to join the Allman Brothers in 1989.  Throughout the years Warren launched his namesake band in 1993 and followed that by forming Gov't Mule, shortly thereafter.  In our April of 2013 interview with Warren, award-winning program director Ray White talks with Warren about Gov't Mule's By A Thread and Shout releases and also touches on The Allman Brothers Band, too!  Warren's latest release is Revolution Come...Revolution Go.  In our spotlight segment, we pay tribute to the leader of The Allman Brothers Band, Gregg Allman, who passed away on 5/27/17.  His last studio album was Southern Blood. At the top of the album-oriented rock charts during the 1970's you'd find the band Kansas.  They appeared on the Billboard charts for over 200 weeks throughout the '70's and 80's.  On this June of 2010 interview, the CAT's Ray White spends times with Kansas guitarist Richard Williams, who has been with the band since their debut album was released in 1974.  Rich shares  his insights into the 35th anniversary of the band, that features the release of their live CD/DVD - There's Know Place Like Home.  Kansas' recent album is The Prelude Implicit, their first studio release in 16 years.  Our showcase band on this episode is Mike and the Mechanics, who were formed by Genesis' co-founder Mike Rutherford in 1985.  Their latest release - Let Me Fly, is their eighth studio album.

In part 2 of our interview with the phenomenal guitarist Allan Holdsworth, recorded in March of 2017 - several weeks before his passing, we talk about his last music projects and one of his hobbies outside of music. Allan was considered one of the best guitarists in the world by Carlos Santana, Joe Satriani and Eddie Van Halen and many others. We feature singer/bassist John Wetton on this "special tribute" Sittin' In With The CAT show. John's handprint can be found on numerous bands from the early 1970's right up to his passing in January of 2017.  Widely known for his work with Asia, King Crimson, U.K and Roxy Music, his singing and bass playing was among the best in progressive rock music history.  In this tribute show, award-winning program director Ray White interviewed John in January 2009 after release of Asia's Phoenix album.  That album was the first released by the original Asia members since 1983.  John shares insights regarding the reunion of the band and details of his other music career highlights. Formed in 1972 in Chicago, Styx has had 4 consecutive multi-platinum albums as well as 16 Top 40 singles, 8 of which landed in the Top 10.  After releasing six albums, their seventh - The Grand Illusion, launched the band towards superstar status.  Founding members James Young and Chuck Panozzo carry the flame for the band today and just released their latest concept album - The Mission.  Award winning program director, Ray White, is joined by long time Styx bassist, Ricky Phillips, in this June of 2010 interview.  Ricky was a founding member of the supergroup Bad English and also played with The Babys, before joining Styx in 2003.  In our "Spotlight" segment, we feature a 1990 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee as a member of The Kinks - Ray Davies.  His latest solo album is titled Americana which compliments a DVD and book of the same name.  His backing band on this release is The Jayhawks - an alt-country/country rock band which formed back in the mid 1980's.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Nancy Wilson of Heart has a new band and project she's been working on called Roadcase Royale.  Teaming with several members of Heart and Prince's New Power Generation bands, the sound combines Rock and R&B at its best!  In this April of 2017 interview with New Music Weekly Magazine's 2017 Program Director of the Year, Ray White, Nancy talks about the new band, new record, and plans for the rest of the year.  Her albums, throughout the years, have sold well over 35 million worldwide.  Nancy's recordings have made it to the Top 10 on the charts during the 70's, 80's, 90's, 00's and 10's - making Heart and their music among the most commercially enduring rock bands in history!  Another Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician - Pink Floyd's Roger Waters , is in our "Spotlight" segment on this episode.  He's just released his fifth studio album, Is This The Life We Really Want?"

Born out of the music mecca of San Francisco in 1982, Night Ranger has sold nearly 20 million albums throughout the years, and are led by original members Jack Blades, Brad Gillis and Kelly Keagy.  In this August of 2011 interview with guitarist Brad Gillis, award-winning program director Ray White talks with him about their tour with Journey and Foreigner, early beginnings of the band, his career when Jack Blades joined Damn Yankees, their album Somewhere In California - and much more!  Night Ranger's current album Don't Let Up gives you the connection with the band today, tied back to their strong Rock and Roll roots! Inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Doors, Robby Krieger has developed a unique legacy as a guitarist and singer-songwriter on the global music scene.  Rolling Stone magazine consistently includes Robby on their "Greatest Guitarists of All Time" listings.  Since his days with The Doors, Robby has released nearly a dozen albums, mainly featuring his world-class guitar work.  In this June of 2010 interview, just a couple years before the death of his bandmate - Ray Manzarek, award winning program director Ray White, talks with Robby about his 2010 solo release, "Singularity" and much more!  In our Spotlight segment, we feature Heart's Nancy Wilson and Prince's Liv Warfield's new band - Roadcase Royale.
