Multi-Grammy award musician Shawn Colvin kicked off her career performing in off-Broadway shows.  Hooking up with Suzanne Vega shortly thereafter, she then signed with a major label in 1989.  Right out of the gate she garnered fame as her Steady On album hit Grammy gold.  Throughout her career she's been a premier singer-songwriter and musician.  Shawn talks with multi-award winning program director Ray White , in September of 2014, about her early influences, time in Greenwich Village and other career highlights.  Her latest solo project is Uncovered and in 2016 she teamed with Steve Earle on Colvin and Earle.  In our Showcase Segment, we look back at the career of Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer with The Cars, Ric Ocasek, who passed away on September 15, 2019.  For more information about our show, visit us at Classic Artists Today.  Ray and his shows are on social media, too!
