Renaissance, an iconic trend setting band was launched in 1969, combining a fusion of rock, folk, classical and jazz genres. The bands co-founders included Jim McCarty and Keith Relf, who launched The Yardbirds. A couple years after forming Renaissance, Jim focused back on music with The Yardbirds and vocalist Annie Haslam carried on as the focal point of the band. Wang Chung was formed in London in 1980, co-founded by Nick Feldman and Jack Hues. The band has released 7 studio albums with 11 singles that have landed on various music charts. Multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with Nick backstage before their show in June of 2025 as part of the "I Want My 80's Tour" with Rick Springfield, John Waite & John Cafferty. The Wood Brothers, Oliver and Chris, have emerged as one of the innovative American roots music bands on today's scene. Each concentrated on differant genres of music before coming together to form their band. Oliver leaned towards Blues and Rhythm & Blues, while Chris was more on the Jazz Fusion side of music. Together, five of their collective albums have landed on the charts. In 2018, they were nominated for the Grammys' Best Americana Album award for their One Drop Of Truth project. The Wood Brothers' brand new CD is Puff of Smoke. Show producer Ray White talks with the brothers about their early years and how they've built a solid following with their musical union, plus much more. John Waite launched his career in 1975 as a member of The Babys. After 5 studio albums the original group disbanded and his solo career was launched. In 1988, John fronted Bad English, a super group with members that had outstanding careers with Journey and Styx. In 1995, John returned to his solo work and later joined a tour with Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band. Producer and host Ray White caught up with John back in 2011 to talk about his then current album Rough & Tumble, the groups Bad English and The Babys and he shared his insights on Ringo. John's latest project is an EP titled Anything. In our showcase segment we look back at the career of Larry Lee, an awesome vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who was best known for his work with the Ozark Mountain Daredevils. Larry was also in several other bands including Vinyl Kings, Beyond Reach, Jimmy Buffet's Coral Reefer Band and he released several solo albums, too. His work as a producer, included projects for Alabama, K.T. Oslin, Juice Newton and dozens more. Larry passed away on May 10, 2025. Great vocalists are featured on this episode from The CAT!

Mark Farner was co-founder/singer/guitarist for Grand Funk Railroad who were founded in 1969. With Grand Funk he had 6 Platinum and 3 Gold records from 1969 to 1975. Cy Curnin has been the frontman for The Fixx since they were formed in 1980. One of the few "classic" bands with their originial members today, they have produced a Platinum and Gold albums in their careers, with 16 songs landing on various singles charts. Brad Gillis has been the guitarist for Night Ranger since they were formed in 1982. Throughout the years, the band has released over a dozen studio albums and collectively had two Platinum and three Gold releases. On Part Two of our interview with Brad (you'll find Part One on Episode 10) he touches on his early years in music, work with "The Prince of Darkness," Night Ranger's 2011 major tour and album Somewhere In California. Emerson Hart co-founded Tonic in 1993 and is their lead vocalist and plays rhythm guitar. The band has received two Grammy award nominations and has a Platinum album to their credit. Jimi Haha is the frontman for the band Jimmie's Chicken Shack that launched in 1993 in Baltimore, MD. His career took off after signing with Elton John's Rocket Records in 1996. The band blends their alternative style with rock and funk to produce their driving sound. They've toured with 311, Live, Everclear, Fuel and others. In September of 2024, Ray White interviews Jimi and touched on the bands history with various record labels, the "Haha" name, their latest album 2econds, his Jarflys band and plans for 2025. Joe Bonamassa is constantly listed towards the top of the lists of the best guitarists in the world. At the age of twelve he opened for the legendary B.B. King and was introduced to the world. Nominated for three Grammy Awards, Joe's won numerous other awards especially in the Blues world. Multi-award winning program director Ray White connected with him via telephone in August of 2024 to talk about his Live At The Hollywood Bowl album, playing concerts at many of the world famous concert halls, his activities during COVID, his latest with Black Country Communion (who recently released "V") and much, much more. Bill Payne is an accomplished Keyboardist/Singer/Songwriter who co-founded Little Feat in 1969. He's also worked and recorded with the elite in the Rock and Roll industry including Bob Seger, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor and even Pink Floyd - along with dozens others. In the early 2000's Bill reunited with The Doobie Brothers (where you'll find him playing on 9 albums throughout the years) and was on the road with the band at the beginning of their 50th year Reunion Tour. With Little Feat, they recently added 2 new members of the band and recorded Sam's Place, an album that's currently up for a Grammy award. Multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with Bill before he took the stage in October of 2024 to talk about his recent work with the Doobies, Little Feat's Sam Clayton's expanded role on their latest release and other album insights. Elliott Yamin in 2006 was a finalist on the 5th season of American Idol. He released his self-titled album in 2007 that peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200. His single "Wait For You" obtained platinum certification. Elliott has had 5 solo albums land on the charts throughout his career. In recent years you can find Elliott performing and touring with the Lao Tizer Band and Special EFX All-Stars. His latest recordings can be found on Lao Tizer Band's Amplify album, released in 2024.
