Formed in 1981, 10,000 Maniacs has had 10 songs hit the charts throughout their career. For 12 years Natalie Merchant was lead vocalist for the band. Mary Ramsey took over that role, after Natalie's departure. Mary is also a classically-trained violinist and adds this talent to the group. In May of 2011, multi-award winning program director Ray White caught up with founding members Steve Gustafson and Dennis Drew before their show. They touched on the transition of their lead singers, the early years of the band and songs they were compiling for their Music From The Motion Picture project. 10,000 Maniacs latest release is titled Halloween Live at Disney Institute.
