Drummer Chris Frantz co-founded the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club.  Bassist Tina Weymouth, Chris' wife, joins him in both bands.  While the Heads haven't played since 2002, Tom Tom Club still performs today.  Award winning program director Ray White caught up with Chris in September of 2011, before his show by the ocean in Virginia Beach, to talk about the formation of the Tom Tom Club, the addition of Adrian Belew to the band, the movie Stop Making Sense and the making of the album Genius Of Live.  In our "Showcase Segment," we pay homage to Peter Tork of The Monkees - who recorded two 5x Platinum albums and had nine Top 20 hits with the band.  The Monkees lastest pop album was Good Times.  Peter passed away on February 21, 2019 at the age of 77.  For more information about our show visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Steve Morse has consistently been named one of the world's top guitarists during the past four decades.  He was voted "Best Overall Guitarist," in Guitar Player magazine's reader's poll for five consecutive years - then inducted into their "Gallery of Greats."  Steve is Deep Purple's longest-serving guitarist having been with the band since 1994.  Along with his own band and solo work, he co-founded the Dixie Dregs and current pop/rock supergroup Flying Colors.  Steve was also with Kansas in the late 1980's.  Throughout his career, his work has received seven Grammy nominations.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White, caught up with Steve in September of 2018 during Deep Purple's "The Long Goodbye Tour," to talk about his career highlights and Deep Purple's latest album Infinite.  In our "Showcase Segment," we feature Ace Frehley of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band KISS!  Guitar World named Ace as the 14th Greatest Metal Guitarist of all-time!  His latest album is Spaceman.  Learn more about our show by visiting our website at Classic Artists Today.
