America was formed in London in 1970 by a trio of youngsters whose fathers were stationed there by the U.S. Air Force.  America's Gerry Beckley sat down with multi-award winning program director Ray White, in August of 2019, to talk about the band's last studio album Here and Now, their Grammy award for Best New Artist in 1973 and his brand new solo project Five Mile Road.  In our "Showcase Segment," we look back at several highlights of the career of Paul Barrere - songwriter/guitarist/vocalist of Little Feat.  Paul passed away on October 26, 2019.  His last studio album with Little Feat was Rooster Rag.  Bringing you the latest inside scoop from your favorite classic bands and performers, we are... Multi-Grammy award musician Shawn Colvin kicked off her career performing in off-Broadway shows.  Hooking up with Suzanne Vega shortly thereafter, she then signed with a major label in 1989.  Right out of the gate she garnered fame as her Steady On album hit Grammy gold.  Throughout her career she's been a premier singer-songwriter and musician.  Shawn talks with multi-award winning program director Ray White , in September of 2014, about her early influences, time in Greenwich Village and other career highlights.  Her latest solo project is Uncovered and in 2016 she teamed with Steve Earle on Colvin and Earle.  In our Showcase Segment, we look back at the career of Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Famer with The Cars, Ric Ocasek, who passed away on September 15, 2019.  For more information about our show, visit us at Classic Artists Today.  Ray and his shows are on social media, too!

English rock guitarist Shane Fontayne , hit the international music scene in 1980 on an album by Steve Forbert.  Since then he has recorded and/or toured with Joe Cocker, Richard Marx, Marc Cohn, Graham Nash, David Crosby and Crosby Stills & Nash.  playing, vocals and sometimes production work landed him with work with over a dozen more musicians including Bruce Springsteen.  In this March of 2019 interview with multi-award winning radio host & producer, Ray White, Shane talks about his latest project with Graham Nash titled - This Path Tonight and his years with Crosby Stills & Nash.  In our featured segment, we spotlight the career of Eddie Money, who passed away on September 13, 2019.  His last album was released just several months before his death - Brand New Day.  For more information about our shows, visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Santana's Gregg Rolie, Leslie West of Mountain and the late Johnny Winter are featured on our celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Woodstock Music and Art Fair, which was held on August 15, 16 & 17, 1969 in Bethel, New York.  The festival was a pivotal moment in music history and an event that defined a generation.  The crowd was estimated to be 400,000 people.  Award-winning program director Ray White, takes you on a trip celebrating the concert of the century.  We'll look bank at several of the bands' that participated including Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Janis Joplin and Sly and the Family Stone.   For more information about our show, visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Keith Howland is guitarist and vocalist for Chicago, gracing the stage for nearly 25 years.  Launching his career with Rick Springfield in the mid-1990's, Keith's life in music has taken off ever since.  You'll find his guitar licks and singing on nearly a dozen albums from Chicago and has traveled the world with the band.  When not touring or recording with Chicago, Keith has recorded several projects with his friends including members of The Doobie Brothers in the band Button.  Chicago's latest studio release is Chicago XXXVI: Now.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White, talks with Keith backstage about his big break in the music industry and the latest with Chicago.  In our showcase segment, we feature former member of Humble Pie and The Herd - Peter Frampton.  Peter's latest album debuted at number one on Billboard's Top Blues Album Chart and is titled All Blues.  To learn more about our show, visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Multi-Grammy award winner Kenny Loggins has had tremendous success as a solo artist, part of the duo Loggins and Messina, and as a songwriter and collaborator.  In recent years, Kenny has produced several "family" albums and is a member of the country trio Blue Sky Riders.  Award-winning program director Ray White caught up with Kenny during his reunion tour with Jim Messina in August of 2009 to talk about his latest endeavors, including his last solo album - All Join In.  In our Showcase Segment, we feature Kenny's good friend and 5-time Grammy winner Michael McDonald, who was in Steely Dan and The Doobie Brothers earlier in his career.  His latest album is his first with original material in 17 years titled Wide Open.  For more information about our show visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Singer, Songwriter, Record Producer Wendy Waldman hit the Southern California music scene as a member of Bryndle - where other members included Karla Bonoff, Andrew Gold, and Kenny Edwards, back in 1970.  In 1973 her solo career was launched when Rolling Stone named her "Singer-Songwriter Debut of The Year" after releasing her first album.  As a songwriter, Wendy reached the pinnacle when she co-wrote "Save The Best For Last" for Vanessa Williams, which was nominated for a Grammy.  Her credits as a record producer includes albums for Jonathan Edwards, New Grass Revival and Suzy Bogguss.  Award-winning program director, Ray White, catches up with Wendy in January 2019 to talk about her years as part of the second wave of outstanding female musicians and her soon to be released album, Blue Balloon.  In our showcase segment we feature long time lead guitarist for the Eagles, Don Felder, who is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the iconic band,  Don's latest solo release is American Rock 'n' Roll.  For more information about our show visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Since their formation in 1969, Little Feat has captured the many music styles that is America's music.  Founded by the late Lowell George and current member Bill Payne, the band continues to please music lovers today!  In our August of 2009 interview, award-winning program director Ray White catches up with guitarist/vocalist Paul Barrere backstage and touches on his early years with the band, recording with Robert Palmer and with other Warner Bros. artists.  We also talk about Little Feat's Join The Band album and much, much more!  The band's latest studio recording is Rooster Rag.  In our "showcase segment," we feature Shaun Murphy who was a member of Little Feat from 1993-2009 and has recorded and toured with Bob Seger throughout the years, starting in 1973.  She's a powerful vocalist who has recorded numerous albums steeped in R&B and blues.  Her latest album is title Mighty Gates.  For more information about our show visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Drummer Chris Frantz co-founded the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band Talking Heads and the Tom Tom Club.  Bassist Tina Weymouth, Chris' wife, joins him in both bands.  While the Heads haven't played since 2002, Tom Tom Club still performs today.  Award winning program director Ray White caught up with Chris in September of 2011, before his show by the ocean in Virginia Beach, to talk about the formation of the Tom Tom Club, the addition of Adrian Belew to the band, the movie Stop Making Sense and the making of the album Genius Of Live.  In our "Showcase Segment," we pay homage to Peter Tork of The Monkees - who recorded two 5x Platinum albums and had nine Top 20 hits with the band.  The Monkees lastest pop album was Good Times.  Peter passed away on February 21, 2019 at the age of 77.  For more information about our show visit us at Classic Artists Today.

Steve Morse has consistently been named one of the world's top guitarists during the past four decades.  He was voted "Best Overall Guitarist," in Guitar Player magazine's reader's poll for five consecutive years - then inducted into their "Gallery of Greats."  Steve is Deep Purple's longest-serving guitarist having been with the band since 1994.  Along with his own band and solo work, he co-founded the Dixie Dregs and current pop/rock supergroup Flying Colors.  Steve was also with Kansas in the late 1980's.  Throughout his career, his work has received seven Grammy nominations.  Multi-award winning program director Ray White, caught up with Steve in September of 2018 during Deep Purple's "The Long Goodbye Tour," to talk about his career highlights and Deep Purple's latest album Infinite.  In our "Showcase Segment," we feature Ace Frehley of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band KISS!  Guitar World named Ace as the 14th Greatest Metal Guitarist of all-time!  His latest album is Spaceman.  Learn more about our show by visiting our website at Classic Artists Today.

Formed in 1974, 38 Special is still led by co-founder Don Barnes.  Guitarist and lead vocalist, he sang all the bands hits through 1987.  Throughout the years the band has recorded a Double Platinum, 3 Platinum,  and 2 Gold studio albums, which included 12 Top 10 hits!  Their last studio release was Drivetrain.  Award-winning Program Director Ray White, caught up with Don in July of 2018, at his hotel before a show to talk about being the heir apparent to lead the Southern Rock genre after the farewell tours of The Allman Brothers Band and Lynyrd Skynyrd.  He also shares his insights into the making of his first solo album, Ride The Storm, that was released in 2017 after the tapes were lost in the record company's shuffle after it's 1989 recording.  In our "showcase segment," we feature The Charlie Daniels Band - another leader in the Southern Rock movement, that hit its stride in the 1970's.  Their last studio album was Nighthawk.  For more information about our show, visit Classic Artists Today.

Co-founding member of the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Rodney Justo, rejoined the band in 2011 as a full-time member since parting the band in the early 1970's.  The lead singer sits down with award-winning program director Ray White in June of 2018 to talk about the bands' formation and happenings with the current line-up. Formed in 1993, Sister Hazel band members have remained the same since.  They've had 7 songs make the music charts throughout the years.  These songs landed on diverse charts including Billboard Hot 100, Alternative, Mainstream Rock, Adult Top 40 and Adult Contemporary.  In our September of 2014 interview, award-winning program director Ray White talks with the bands' lead vocalist Ken Block about their Heartland Highway album and the Jacksonville, FL influences that helped to shape the band.  Their latest EP album is titled Wind.  In our "spotlight segment," we feature Heart's lead vocalist Ann Wilson whose latest solo album is Immortal.
